ASPM® Joan Inglis Featured in REALTOR® Magazine

As you may recall, Stagedhomes issued an urgent casting call for unique Staging stories and case studies last fall. At that time, REALTOR® Magazine had asked us to provide names of ASPs® and REALTORS® who have helped clients with a unique staging project to get a house sold. The writer’s goal, he wrote, was to talk to the clients, as this story is meant to be from the clients’ perspective about how the REALTOR®/Stager helped them. One of the Accredited Staging Professionals who quickly responded was 2014 Barb Schwarz ASPM® Staging Excellence Award Winner Joan Inglis. Here is what Joan wrote us: A seller asked me this summer to take a look at an investment property in Rock Hill, SC, which had been listed for sale six months with 22 showings and no offers. The sellers were a Realtor and NFL player Ruvell Martin and his wife Michelle, who had never used Home Staging to prepare their real estate investment properties for sale. I asked Michelle Martin if they had any feedback from the 22 showings that she could share.  Michelle said the buyers complained that the bedrooms were too small. I devised a Staging plan to furnish key rooms and areas and each of the three bedrooms in the vacant house with my company-owned new furnishings.  I used king and queen sized beds, nightstands, chairs, chests and accessories to show the ample space truly available in the bedrooms. We accommodated our client by swiftly scheduling Staging for very early on a Saturday morning, and we completed the Staging project before a scheduled 10:00 a.m. showing. I was not surprised – but excited and happy for Ruvell and Michelle when I received this email from Michelle:  “The people that came through at 10:00 a.m. after you staged Springview wrote an offer!” This house sold in under 30 minutes, on the first showing after Staging – and after it sat vacant and unsold for six months with 22 showings! We forwarded Joan’s story, among others, to the writer and here is the article as featured in REALTOR Magazine. Please click here to view dear Joan Inglis’ Feature page at Stagedhomes.com. How Media Attention Benefits You! You may wonder how all this publicity benefits you as an individual Accredited Staging Professional? While Staging certainly has gained a lot of ground since the early days when I created the concept of Staging, but many consumers, and even real estate industry professionals, are still not educated on the benefits of Staging homes. Each time an article is published we raise awareness of Staging in general, and of course Accredited Staging Professionals specifically. Each time I’m interviewed I always make a point to highlight our most current Staging statistics.  That information has a tremendous impact when it’s published as many consumers and even REALTORS® may not be aware what a difference Staging makes. I also always mention that Stagedhomes.com features both a national and international directory of Accredited Staging Professionals® and a director of Staged homes on the market. As you can see, the national and international publicity we receive helps you both indirectly, as more and more become educated on Staging, and directly when consumers and REALTORS® look for a Stager in their local market. Please look for upcoming Casting Calls as we would love to give you the opportunity to communicate the difference you make. It is my honor to always be working for you.
